Opened in 1984 by Marta and Giuseppe Castellucci, Il Pollaio has been serving grilled chicken and meats to North Beach, San Francisco for decades. The name means “the chicken coop” in Italian.

Il Pollaio specializes in grilled chicken cooked moist inside with the skin crispy. They also feature ribeye steaks, lamb and pork chops, rabbits, and sausages. The chimichurri sauce is a must. Both restaurants serve freshly prepared salads and soups daily.
